Tasmania
is well known for the quality of its
trout fishery, but these wild trout
have the reputation of being amongst
the hardest of all to catch. Peter Morse
joins local guide Neil Grose on the
highland lakes to fly fish for these
elusive trout. Tasmania is an environment
that constantly changes, different weather
conditions and water levels can turn
good fishing into great, great fishing
into spectacular, so its important to
fish with a local guide who knows how
to match conditions to locations and,
of course, trout! With the changing
conditions, comes changing fishing opportunities
often in the same day: from drift fishing
in boats, to sight fishing the lake
edges. Peter also takes the opportunity
to try out some of the new range of
rods and reels from Redington, excellent
quality fly gear at affordable prices.
